Danny Toycen
Director of Hockey Operations / U14 Head Coach
Coach Danny is a coach with over 10 years of experience working in youth hockey, coaching athletes from the mite level through high school. Originally from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, he played for Chippewa Falls High School and the La Crosse Freeze in the NA3HL before continuing his hockey career in the NCAA at Lawrence University.

Since beginning his coaching career in 2014, he has worked with players across a wide range of ages and ability levels, developing a well-rounded understanding of long-term athlete development. His coaching approach places a strong emphasis on skating ability and hockey IQ, which he believes are foundational skills that allow players to progress to whatever level of hockey they aspire to reach.

While recognizing that every player has a unique skill set, he is committed to individualized development that meets each athlete’s specific needs. At the same time, he places a strong focus on team play, responsibility, and accountability—ensuring every player learns how to contribute and succeed within a team environment. He believes these lessons extend far beyond the rink and play an important role in preparing athletes for life after hockey.

Outside of hockey, he works as an Orthopedic Spine Surgery Physician Assistant. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports and spending time with his dog, Ertie.
