Private Training

Maximize your full potential with focused, one-on-one coaching.

Honey Badgers private lessons are designed for players who want extra attention, targeted feedback, and faster development. Whether your player is just learning to skate or pushing for AAA/Juniors, our coaches build a plan around their game.

Who Private Lessons Are For

Private training is great for:

  • Mites through High School – boys and girls, all positions

  • Players who feel “stuck” and want to break through a plateau

  • Hard-workers who want more than just standard team practices

  • Players returning from injury who need a smart, safe ramp-up

  • Goalies who need position-specific attention

If your player is motivated and wants to improve, we’ll meet them there.

What We Work On

Each session is built around your player’s needs, but common focus areas include:

Skating & Edges

  • Balance, stride power, and speed

  • First three steps / acceleration

  • Lateral movement, crossovers, transitions

Puck Skills

  • Puck control at speed

  • Deception and hands in tight spaces

  • Receiving and making passes under pressure

Shooting & Scoring

  • Shot mechanics and quick release

  • Shooting in stride and off both feet

  • Net-front scoring habits and rebounds

Hockey IQ & Compete

  • Reading pressure and making quicker decisions

  • Puck support, spacing, and “off-puck” habits

  • Compete level, body positioning, and confidence

Position-Specific Work

  • Defense: gaps, angling, retrievals, breakouts

  • Forwards: entries, timing, scoring areas

  • Goalies: movement, tracking, rebound control, game reads

How Private Lessons Work

We keep things simple and player-focused:

  1. Initial Conversation
You share your player’s age, level, position, and goals (short form or email).

  2. Coach Match & Plan
We pair your player with a Honey Badgers coach who fits their needs and build a short development plan (3–5 sessions to start).

  3. On-Ice Sessions

    • Typically 45–60 minutes

    • High-repetition drills, small-area games, and lots of puck touches

    • Clear teaching, positive coaching, and instant feedback

  4. Feedback & Progress Tracking
After each block of sessions, you’ll get a quick summary of what we worked on and what’s next.

Note: Ice booking and exact pricing depend on rink, time, and coach. We’ll walk you through options when you inquire.

Lesson Options

1. Individual Lessons (1:1)

Perfect for deep technical work and rapid improvement.

  • 1 player, 1 coach

  • Highly focused on specific skills or positions

  • Great for players with clear goals (e.g., “improve edges,” “get quicker release,” “prepare for tryouts”)

Recommended for: motivated players who want maximum attention.

2. Small Group Lessons (2–4 Skaters)

Ideal for teammates or friends who like training together.

  • 2–4 players, 1 coach

  • Still lots of touches and feedback, with game-like drills

  • Adds decision-making, competition, and fun

Recommended for: friends/teammates at a similar level.

3. Goalie-Specific Lessons

Dialed-in training for the most important position on the ice.

  • 1–2 goalies per coach

  • Movement, angles, tracking, post play

  • Rebound control and game-situational reps

  • Optional: shooters added for more realistic looks

Recommended for: goalies who want real, structured coaching (not just “facing shots”).
